Position Overview:

The Senior Resilience Engineer/Planner will consult with public and private clients on projects throughout the U.S. and the Bahamas, and be a key member of our consulting team. The position is primarily remote, however, occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Lead and manage projects related to all things resilient for clients in various industries.
  2. Conduct in-person and remote workshops, as well as occasional fieldwork.
  3. Lead the development and delivery of client projects, including incorporating data into informative reports.
  4. Provide technical guidance and support to clients and project teams on sustainability and resilience best practices and solutions.
  5. Develop grant applications for clients in technical areas such as infrastructure, community development, and workforce development.
  6. Lead proposal writing and preparation of presentations.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and subject matter experts, to integrate data and processes into broader planning and development initiatives.
  8. Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, consulting partners, team members and community members to ensure successful project outcomes and identify opportunities for future collaboration.

Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree in civil engineering or other engineering field, environmental science, urban planning, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in consulting required.
  3. Experience in sustainability, resilience planning, hazard mitigation, or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
  4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Maps, Zoom, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat, Gmail, and other business software and web-based applications. GIS and/or CAD experience desired.
  5. Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and persuasively.
  7. The ability to work collaboratively in teams as well as using time management to work efficiently independently.
  8. Strong experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  9. Expert technical writing abilities, and the capacity to quality control team-wide project deliverables.
  10. Professional certifications or affiliations related to flood risk management or resilience planning are desirable.
